What is expected?

Business & Hospitality Pathway (multi) 
The Business Pathway is designed for students who are interested in fields such as accounting, marketing, finance, advertising and market research, retail, human resources, hospitality and tourism. It includes careers in planning, organizing, directing, and evaluating business functions essential to efficient, productive business operations, investment planning, insurance, banking, as well as food services, lodging, recreation and travel services. The Pathway prepares students with an understanding of a range of business concepts and skills, as well as equipping them with the quantitative and analytical skills needed for success in the field. Students may choose a focus area, or maintain a broad business focus. 
Pathway focus areas include: 
● Accounting/finance: This focus area includes such business-related content as accounting principles, tax law, managing financial documents and the role of finances on business operations, financial analysis, economics, and statistics. 
● Marketing: This focus area concentrates on what is needed to attract and retain customers. Students with this pathway focus study market research, business promotion, building brand awareness, communication and marketing strategies. 
 Hospitality & Tourism: This focus area is designed for students who like to travel and are attracted to the idea of helping others to explore the beauty, culture, and cuisine of the world around them. Students with this pathway focus study business, marketing, and culinary and other culture-related topics.
