Arts, A/V Tech & Communication Pathway
The Arts, A/V Tech and Communications Pathway is designed for students who are interested in creative expression and enjoy hands-on learning. Courses in any one of the four strands included in this Pathway provide students with the opportunity to gain the knowledge, aptitudes, skill and technique required for success in the field. Choices within the Pathway allow for individualized focus. Students in the Arts, A/V Tech and Communication Pathway select ONE of the following concentrations:
- Performing Arts: The Performing Arts Pathway is designed for students who wish to share their creative expression through music, theater, and dance. Students in this Pathway learn to play instruments or sing, act and/or direct for live audiences and/or in recording studios.
- Communication: The Communication Pathway is designed for students who have an interest in the effective communication of information through such avenues as journalism, public relations, broadcasting, or linguistics.
- Visual & Digital Arts: The Visual and Digital Arts Pathway is designed for students interested in self-expression through a variety of artistic disciplines. Within the Pathway, students gain contextual and technical knowledge and skills, as well as exploring potential careers within the visual and digital arts. Students will create a professional portfolio to showcase their work.
